Construction of a third desalting plant, using technology tested so far only in models, is underway on the East Mesa. The new plant uses electrodialysis to separate sodium and chlorine ions from water.

Adults joined the youth of the Methodist Church in a desert picnic on the Glamis Dunes. Around 100 people were there, including a group of kids from the Glendale Methodist Church.
