H.O.P.E. for Haiti Speaker at Turning Point Lifecenter Turning Point Lifecenter in Holtville will be hosting guest speaker Ryan Rothfleisch on Tuesday, March 9th at 7:00 p.m. Ryan will be speaking on behalf of H.O.P.E. for Haiti, and will recount his visit to Haiti following the devastating earthquake. He will also be providing information on how residents of the Imperial Valley can partner with H.O.P.E. for Haiti to be a part of rebuilding and bringing new hope to many who were left desolate by the earthquake. This presentation will take place at Turning Point Lifecenter, 450 Cedar Avenue in Holtville.

NAF El Centro 2010 Air Show

The Naval Air Facility El Centro Air Show 2010 will take place on Saturday 13 March 2010. General admission and Parking is free. The objective of this event is to keep the public informed of our military services preparedness, demonstrate modern weapons systems, enhance community relations, and promote recruiting. The Air Show features the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. NAF El Centro is the winter training home for the Blue Angels and their performance at El Centro occurs at the end of their training and the beginning of their show season. In addition to the Blue Angels their will be several other military flight demonstrations and civilian performances. In addition to the aerial performances, a wide variety of field exhibits and hands-on displays will be available for the education and entertainment of passers-by. Included among these are vintage as well as state-of-the air military static aircraft, historical displays and exhibits presented by military and aviation enthusiasts.

* WOVEN Open House
WOVEN Open House

W.O.V.E.N. Open House The Women of Virtue Empowerment Network (W.O.V.E.N.) will be kicking off it\'s grand opening with an Open House event on Monday, March 22nd from 6-8 p.m. WOVEN is a non-profit organization created as a support center for women of the Imperial Valley. Founding directors are Betty Predmore and Sara Hilfiker of Holtville, and Stacie Chandler and Debbie Cameron of Brawley. WOVEN will be offering support groups led by trained facilitators on such topics as marriage/relationships, parenting, grief, menopause, health and nutrition, conflict resolution, and self-empowerment. There will also be support groups for women\'s AA, cancer, and single mothers. In addition to the scheduled group sessions, the WOVEN office will be open for walk-in assistance Monday through Friday from 10:00-noon along with Monday and Thursday afternoons from 1-3 p.m. WOVEN services are open to all women free of charge.
