El Centro, CA – January 25, 2016 – The City of El Centro is encouraging residents and businesses to prepare for possible strong El Nino storm. The City’s Public Works Department has provided a handbook with useful information about preparing for strong storms, potential flooding and what to do during an evacuation. The handbook can be found on the City’s webpage www.cityofelcentro.org and the City’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/ElCentroCA.  A Spanish version of the handbook will be made available in the upcoming weeks.

Must be available for shoot February 12th & 13th. Pay rate is $500/day.
We are looking for regular people to fill the following roles:
2 x Farmers – 1 Caucasian, 1 Hispanic – age range 35 – 55 (but really anyone interested and with a great farmer look.)
1 x Female – age 30s
1 x Boy – age 3 – 5
Casting date: Wednesday, January 27th, 2016
Time Frame: Any time 12pm – 4pm.  No reservation is required.
Casting should only take 15-20 minutes.
Location: Fairfield Inn & Suites El Centro – 503 E Danenberg Dr, El Centro, CA 92243. Meet us at the conference room (follow signs)
Your photo will be taken and you will be asked to speak on camera. Please arrive dressed casually or in “farmer” attire (plain t-shirt, jeans, boots, etc).

Wednesday, January 27, the County of Imperial Area Agency on Aging will host their annual Senior Appreciation Day in Imperial.  The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Casa de Mañana Building at the Imperial Valley Expo.

The annual event is an opportunity to display our appreciation for the role that seniors play in our community and to provide seniors with a day of wholesome fun that includes food, entertainment, raffles, live music, and other activities.  Blood pressure checks will be available, along with information and resources from local service agencies.  This event is free to seniors.  This year’s theme is “Life on the Farm” and door prizes will be distributed for “best dressed.”  Transportation will be available from select locations.

The Area Agency on Aging provides the following services to seniors: congregate meals, home-delivered meals, in-home respite care, information and assistance, ombudsman program, senior health clinics, and legal assistance.

Seniors interested in participating and enjoying a fun-filled day is encouraged to attend.
