Over twenty families received food donations that will make their Thanksgiving dinner happier this year.

Children and parents smiled as turkeys were delivered at the Family Resource Center office in Calexico this past Tuesday. This year’s the food donations were given by Kinsell, Newcome, and De Dios and Supervisor John Renison. This is the second year that they have donated turkeys and food for low income families in Calexico.

For Maria Rodriguez who will benefit this year thanks to the food donation said that it’s something that they will enjoy a lot this year.

“With the situation we live right now with the economy we are thankful that they are doing this.” She stated.

Supervisor John Renison who facilitated the donations for the Family Resource Center said that it always feels good to help.

“It always feels good to cherish the little things because in this season we take for granted the little things, and by doing this kind of stuff the little things becomes big for the people that need it the most.” Renison said.
