CBP Officers at Calexico Ports Discover 77 pounds of Methamphetamine and Cocaine in One Day

Calexico, CA.— U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers working at the Calexico ports of entry intercepted 77 pounds of cocaine and methamphetamines in three separate incidents on September 7.

The first incident occurred at about 4:00 p.m. at the Calexico downtown port when a CBP officer referred a 24-year-old female U.S. citizen for further examination after detecting anomalies to the interior of the vehicle she was driving.

Vargas vs State Board – Ducheny Run For Congress?

State Senator Juan Vargas (D-San Diego) announced in a press conference Monday his intentions to eliminate the State Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board were two former local legislators currently serve on.

Vargas announced he will write legislation to eliminate the unemployment appeals board, and he demanded that all members step down immediately.  The members of this board include former State Senator Denise Moreno-Ducheny and former 80th District Assemblywoman, Bonnie Garcia.
