Ariz. Border Patrol Agents Arrest Fugitive Featured on America’s Most Wanted Episode

Yesterday, Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Casa Grande Border Patrol Station arrested an illegal alien that was previously featured on an episode of America’s Most Wanted. The individual is wanted in Des Moines, Iowa, for vehicular homicide since 2008.

Feliciano Diaz, a 25-year-old Mexican male from Chiapas, Mexico, was arrested for being in the U.S. illegally. During processing, the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System revealed an active warrant for his arrest in Des Moines for vehicular homicide, unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and other related charges.

Diaz was featured on the Aug. 1, 2009 episode of the America’s Most Wanted television show highlighting a hit and run accident that he was involved in which left a horseback trail guide and his horse dead on Sept. 26, 2008. Extradition arrangements are currently being made.

IAFIS has proven to be an invaluable asset for the Border Patrol. It ensures convicted criminals are identified and wanted felons are turned over to the appropriate agencies. The Tucson Sector Border Patrol is committed to preventing illegal aliens from entering the U.S. and working with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to ensure wanted criminals are turned over to face justice.
