EL CENTRO, Calif. – May 4, 2011 – ECRMC has announced the promotion of Alex Wells to Chief Finance Officer, filling the vacancy left with the retirement of Kathy Farmer. Cristina Valdes has been promoted to replace Wells as Controller.
Wells, has held the position of interim Chief Finance Officer since Farmer’s retirement in December 2010. Prior to that term he held the position of Controller, a position maintained since joining ECRMC in 2007. Previous to his position at ECRMC Wells most recently spent eight years locally as a Controller/Chief Financial Officer in the agriculture industry.
“Alex has the experience that we need in a CFO,” said David Green, CEO of ECRMC. “We knew it would be hard to find someone to fill Kathy’s shoes, and we are pleased that we had the talent and skill within our staff to do so.”
A native of Holtville, Wells is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College, earning two bachelor’s degrees. He spent several years in the Los Angeles office of Deloitte & Touche, LLP as a member of the Trade & Retail Group of the Business Auditing and Consulting Services division.

Effective August 2010, ECRMC partnered with TeamHealth, one of the nation’s leading healthcare staffing organizations, to provide high quality emergency department management and staffing, elevating the hospital’s ER department.
