Soroptimist of Holtville will be hosting its 64th Annual Carrot Festival Cooking Contest from February 7th – February 11th, 2011 in conjunction with the Holtville Carrot Festival. As in years past, the contest will run over the course of 5 evenings and will consist of various age and food categories.
Age categories are as follows: Little Chef (kinder through fifth grade), Junior Chef (sixth through twelfth grade), Adult Chef (Eighteen years and older), Senior Chef (Sixty-two years and older & “wintering” guests), and Open Chef (open to all age groups).
Divisions for this year’s contest will be: Appetizer, Bread, Dessert, International Cuisine, Main Course, Energy Savings, Miscellaneous, and Salad/Vegetable.
Registration packets and contest rules, along with complete schedule of event days and times is available at the Holtville Chamber of Commerce office during regular business hours.
