Blue Angels Arrive in El Centro

The Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, The Blue Angels, will arrive at Naval Air Facility El Centro, CA on Jan. 3, 2011 to prepare for the 2011 show season.

The team must complete at least 120 training flights during the 10-week winter training process, which concludes in mid-March.

All media will meet with a Blue Angels representative at the air facility main gate at 12:00 p.m., and the jet pilots will arrive at 12:45 p.m.  Fat Albert, the Blue Angels’ C-130, is expected to arrive at approximately 3:20 p.m. with 15 maintenance personnel and equipment.  The remainder of the maintenance and support personnel will arrive on a C-9 transport aircraft at an undetermined time. The jet pilots will be available for interviews shortly after landing.
