Michael Jackson Showed His Love for Children

A year after his death, the King of Pop is being remembered in a number of ways, but at this year’s California State Fair, his life will be honored through the laughter of children and adults alike.  The State Fair’s carnival operator, Butler Amusements, will feature four of the six rides it purchased from Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch during the 2010 California State Fair July 14 – August 1, 2010 at Cal Expo in Sacramento.

DEA, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Seize $45 Million of Illegal Drugs

Timothy J. Landrum, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Los Angeles Field Division and San Bernardino County Sheriff Rod Hoops announce the seizure of approximately 2750 pounds of cocaine, 67 pounds of methamphetamine and 38,000 pounds of marijuana following the traffic stop of a tractor-trailer in San Bernardino County, California.

Imperial Valley College Swimming Pools Open to the Public

The Imperial Valley College swimming pools are open to the public from noon to 5 p.m. every Saturday through Thursday during the summer.
Admission is $2 per swimmer (including children). Children below the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
A lane in the pool has also been reserved for lap swimmers.
Parking permits are required on all vehicles during summer school, which runs through July 29. Day permits are available from vending machines in the parking lots for $2 per vehicle. A summer parking permit is $10. Parking is free on weekends.

Music Fest at Freedom Fest

Community performing arts groups, including the Imperial Valley Master Chorale and Valley Jazz as well as members of the Imperial Valley Symphony and Community Band will be joining together for a patriotic music concert to precede this year’s 20th Freedom Fest fireworks extravaganza at Imperial Valley College.

“Music Fest at Freedom Fest” will begin at 6 p.m. July 4 in the IVC DePaoli Gym and will conclude in time for patrons to participate in Freedom Fest which is also on the IVC grounds.
