The Holtville Chamber of Commerce  said this week that the dates for this year’s Carrot Festival have been revised.
The Carrot Festival will start Friday, Jan. 29th instead of  Feb. 6th with the Carrot Festival Queen Coronation, Citizen of the Year award and State of the City speech. It will be held at the I.V. Swiss Club on Worthington Road.
Saturday, Jan. 30th the Holtville Athletic Club will rejoin the Carrot Festival lineup with its 19th Annual Rib Cook-Off at Samaha Field.
There will be a music festival Saturday evening in downtown Holtville.
Sunday is open at this time and the Soroptimists Club cooking Contests will begin Monday, Feb. 1st, at the Civic Center. There are several different categories for all ages. A full list of the contests will be published in the  Holtville Tribune  the Friday before the events start. You can also check with the Chamber of Commerce for information on them.
Saturday, Feb. 6th is the Big Day with several attractions planned throughout the day.
The Carrot Festival Midway Carnival will begin Thursday and be featured each day through Sunday, Feb. 7th.
The Carrot Festival Mile and 5K Race will start things off Saturday morning from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. It will bring runners from all over the Valley as well as Snowbirds from all over the country and Canada to participate. ribbons and prizes will be awarded the winners of a half dozen one mile races and the 5K.
The Big Parade will begin at 10 a.m. along Fifth Street from Maple Avenue  to Cedar Avenue.
Holt Park will be the scene of the largest Arts and Crafts Fair in Southeastern California.
You can also find plenty of good, local food to eat too throughout the day. There will be an antique tractor and car show on Holt Avenue.
There will be entertainment in the gazebo from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. during  the afternoon.
Sunday will conclude the festivities with the No  Bones About it Barbecue in Holt Park sponsored by the Holtville Rotary Club. Barbecue will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the drive thru just before the start of the Super Bowl at 3 p.m.
The Chamber promises something for everyone and invites everybody to come out and have a good time in Holt Park for the day.
