Holtville High School Boys Varsity Soccer team has recently won first place in the last two tournaments they have participated in the last couple of weeks.
They placed first in the El Centro Tournament on Nov. 21 and 22. Isaac Burgos a senior at Holtville High School was named Most Valuable Player.
On Saturday, Dec. 12, the soccer team traveled to La Jolla to play at the Francis Parker Cup Tournament in which four schools competed. Their first game was against Horizon Prep Christian School winning 3-0, their second game was played against Preuff High School in which they tied that match 1-1 and went into penalty kicks. Penalty kicks were made by Jesse Contreras, Isaac Burgos, Jose Sanchez, Eddie Sierra, and Hector Miranda. Winning this match took them to the finals. The final game was played against Bishop of San Diego. The winning goal was made by Jose Sanchez. Score was 1-0. Jose Luzanilla senior at Holtville High School was named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament.
