Earthquakes Blitz through Imperial Valley By Chris Furguson On December 30, 2009, at around 10:50 AM, at least four earthquakes rocked the Imperial Valley in less than 20 minutes. The first quake began at 10:48 am and registered 5.8 on the magnitude scale. That quake’s epicenter was several miles south east of Mexicali.
