Parent Supports Recalled School Board Members

Dear Editor:

  As a concerned Calexico parent I am responding to a letter that was publicized in the newspaper in regards to the recall of two Calexico board members. There was a formal statement by the ACT Teachers Union that stated that the teachers are not behind the recall.

  The teachers union had not signed the contract for three years but thanks to these two board members they were able to settle the contract.

  The Calexico board members, Mr. Castillo and Mr. Cordero received union funding and support but voted against the teachers contract.

  Mrs. Tabarez, cannot officially represent the teachers of Calexico. As a parent, I and other parents support these two board members that were recalled because they have done so much for the district and have shown so much parent support.
